Join us for the official unveiling of Skyway!

Learn about the various ways Cloud can be used to enable your research and the unique tools offered by Cloud vendors.

Skyway is an integrated platform developed by the RCC that enables end users to seamlessly burst compute jobs from Midway to Google Cloud, AWS, and, coming soon, Microsoft Azure. Attendees will be able to try out Skyway and attend specialized training sessions facilitated by the Cloud vendors.

Day 1: October 24th Schedule

Introducing Skyway

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

An overview and demonstration of Skyway. Advantages of Skyway and the support from the RCC team for cloud resources will be discussed.

Resource Fair

Time: 2:00-5:00pm

RCC and Cloud vendors will provide demonstrations and information about their resources. Additional information about day 2 and 3 workshops will also be provided.

Day 2: October 25th Schedule

Google and Generative AI Workshop

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

This specialized workshop facilitated by Google’s experts will include the following 3 topics:

  • What You Can Do Right Now Securely and Safely With Google’s Generative AI Technology
    This portion will cover important security aspects, such as Data Sovereignty and Security of IP and Responsible Generative AI.
  • Google Generative AI Demos, Use Cases, Q&A
  • Google Vertex GenAI Platform

There will be 3 sub-sessions tailored for:

  • Researchers and AI Practitioners
  • Programmers and Coders
  • Business Users with No-Code Generation

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) on AWS

Time: 2:00-4:00pm

In this session, AWS will first introduce some basic Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and algorithms, and how Amazon SageMaker and AI services make it easier for researchers to apply AI/ML in their research. AWS will then use SageMaker Studio to walk you through some AI/M examples, including basic regression, classification, and clustering. AWS will also show you how easy it is to get started with GenerativeAI on AWS. No previous AI/Machine Learning experience is required.
